Larry Carmichael

Operations Manager at Danaher Cryogenics

Larry Carmichael has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado Denver. He has over 25 years of experience that includes instrumentation development as an individual contributor and overseeing of daily operations and engineering in highly technical business enterprises.

Larry’s work in instrumentation research and development includes firmware, electronics, and mechanical systems integration for vacuum, mass flow, high speed robotics, and cryogenics (sub Kelvin). His skills in operations management span all aspects of company engineering and manufacturing, project planning and scheduling, attainment of quality objectives and on-time deliverables, process development and improvement to support employee work flow and performance, management of multi-million dollar budgets, and customer interactions from initial concept to actualization. He has developed/implemented systems for enterprise resource planning, ISO quality certification, engineering change processes (ECR/ECO/ECN), and CE and UL product certifications.

Adding to Larry’s engineering leadership and organizational talents are his strong interpersonal skills, which manifest not only in his interactions within the company team, but also with customers in his end-to-end service approach.

Larry is the author or coauthor of over a dozen patents on topics such as vacuum and ionization gauges, mass flow meters, signal processing, analog-to-digital conversion, and robotics.

Outside of work, Larry enjoys automotive restoration, martial arts, snowboarding, home remodeling, and the vast outdoor activities and opportunities in Colorado.
